Electro-Mechanical Field Assessor

Permanent

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber

Salary: £30,000- £40,000 per annum

Are you an experienced electro-mechanical engineer looking to bring your expertise to the next generation of apprentices?

About the Role

You'll work as a field-based assessor, visiting apprentices at their workplaces across the region to assess their progress against their qualification standards. This is a role for someone who knows the electro-mechanical trade inside out and wants to pass that knowledge on, supporting learners through to successful completion of their apprenticeship.

You'll build strong working relationships with both apprentices and their employers, ensuring that training delivered on-site is translating into real competence and confidence. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle will be needed, as this role involves regular travel between employer sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular workplace visits to assess apprentices against their qualification criteria.
  • Providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets to support learner progress.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date assessment records in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Liaising with employers and workplace supervisors to monitor apprentice development.
  • Supporting apprentices through to successful completion of their qualification.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
