About the Role
As an Electro Mechanical Service Technician, you will be part of our Aftermarket Field Service team, supporting the service, repair, and commissioning of NOV Wireline equipment. Based primarily at our Kintore facility, you will also travel to NOV and customer locations globally, including offshore environments.
You will bring a strong electrical foundation while applying and developing your mechanical capability. Working across equipment that combines electrical and mechanical systems, you will diagnose faults, complete repairs, and find practical solutions that help keep our customers' equipment operational.
About the Team
You will join a specialist Field Service team within our wider service organisation. While the role offers independence, particularly during field assignments, you will have access to experienced colleagues and wider technical and manufacturing support when required.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a hands-on role where no two assignments are exactly the same. You may be troubleshooting equipment at our facility, supporting commissioning activities, or responding to a breakdown at a customer location.
In the field, you will work directly with customers, understand their requirements, and take ownership of finding effective solutions. This may involve diagnosing complex faults, identifying practical alternatives, and coordinating the resources required to return equipment to operation safely and efficiently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
