Electro-Mechanical Technician – Production (Cockpit Controls)
About Stirling Dynamics
Stirling Dynamics is recruiting an Electro-mechanical Technician to join the Production team. Due to upcoming projects and continued growth, we are seeking a skilled engineer to become part of our team, which designs, develops, and produces high-end aircraft simulator ‘inceptors’ – pilot-machine interface devices.
Stirling specialises in active controls, producing a range of feature-rich, highly reconfigurable solutions for single or dual (linked) cockpit configurations. Our product portfolio includes:
- Side sticks
- Throttles
- Collectives
- Cyclics
- Tillers
- Pedals
Our controls are:
- Extremely compact
- Fully active
- Cost-effective (low acquisition and through-life costs)
Since the early 1990s, we have pioneered active control technology, achieving several industry and technology firsts. Notably, we supplied the controls for:
- The first ever fully-active fly-by-wire helicopter flight
- The F-35 pilot training simulators

Responsibilities
The Cockpit Controls division requires an Electro-Mechanical Technician within the Production Department to assemble Stirling’s inceptor products. The production process involves:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and instructions
- Stacking and modifying PCBs
- Assembling/installing various sensor types
- Wiring all circuitry within products
- Assembling motors, gearboxes, and mechanical mechanisms
- Constructing frames and enclosures
- Compiling build documentation
- Ensuring assembly adheres to company standards regarding time, cost, and quality

Experience Requirements
Preferred experience includes:
- High precision, high-value electro-mechanical assembly, ideally within Aerospace or Precision Engineering
- Working knowledge of IPC 620 and J-Std-001 (preferably with CIS Certification)
- Technical literacy – ability to read, understand, and follow both mechanical and electrical drawings
- Highly skilled in using hand assembly tools and techniques
