Electronic Design Engineer
Ceredigion, Wales
Up to £45,000 plus bonuses
Are you an Electronic Design Engineer looking for a hands-on role where you can take electronic products from design through to production?
We're working with an established engineering business in Ceredigion, Wales that is looking to strengthen its R&D team with an Electronic Design Engineer.
This is a varied role covering electronic hardware design, PCB development, prototyping, testing and troubleshooting, with the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.
The Role
You'll be involved in the design and development of electronic products, including:
- Electronic schematic design and PCB layout
- Developing analogue and digital electronic circuits
- Building and testing prototype hardware
- Debugging and fault-finding at circuit level
- Working with microcontrollers and embedded electronic systems
- Carrying out testing and validation of new designs
- Supporting the transfer of designs into production
- Working with manufacturing teams on DFM and DFA
- Investigating production and design issues
- Producing technical documentation and test reports
- Working with suppliers and external manufacturing partners

About You
We're looking for an experienced electronics engineer with a strong practical approach to design and development. You'll ideally have:
- A degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Commercial experience in electronic hardware design
- Strong schematic and PCB design experience
- Experience taking designs from concept through to production
- Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
- Experience using laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers and signal generators
- Strong prototyping, testing and fault-finding skills
- An understanding of EMC and electronics compliance
