Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Poole, Dorset – Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Electronic Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Poole, Dorset.

This is a hands-on role covering the full electronics development lifecycle, from initial concept and circuit design through to PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and validation. You will work on a varied range of electronic products and collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and production teams.

The role would suit an engineer who enjoys solving practical technical problems, taking ownership of designs, and seeing products progress from an initial idea through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits to meet product and project requirements.
• Produce schematic designs and PCB layouts using KiCad.
• Prepare manufacturing files, including Gerbers, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
• Build, prototype, and test electronic assemblies.
• Perform functional verification, debugging, fault-finding, and design validation.
• Validate designs through simulation and practical bench testing.
• Work with firmware and mechanical engineers to integrate electronics into complete products.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure designs are practical, reliable, and suitable for production.
• Maintain clear design documentation, test results, and revision records.
• Support ongoing product development, design improvements, and manufacturing processes.
