The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Communications Manager

The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Communications Manager is a senior strategic role responsible for leading and delivering the communications and engagement workstream for the Trust’s EPR procurement and implementation programme.

Joining the programme during the procurement phase, prior to contract award, the post holder will shape and influence the communications, engagement and change approach from the outset. They will ensure that colleagues, patients, partners and stakeholders understand the case for change, are actively involved in shaping the programme, and are supported through the transition to a new EPR system.

The role sits within the EPR Programme Team and works at the heart of programme decision making. The post holder reports professionally to the Head of Communications and works closely with the EPR Programme Director through a dotted reporting line, ensuring that communications strategy is fully aligned with programme delivery, governance and risk management.

As workstream lead for communications and engagement, the post holder will design and deliver a comprehensive strategy spanning procurement, mobilisation, implementation and go-live. They will provide expert advice to senior leaders, influence programme design, manage reputational risk, and ensure that communications activity drives awareness, readiness and sustained adoption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.
