Role Overview

This role will serve as the key point of contact between design, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring effective communication, problem resolution, and alignment across the business. You will support electronic manufacturing challenges while influencing New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production.

Based in a modern North London facility, the company offers an excellent working environment and strong infrastructure for developing advanced, cross-functional technologies. Due to continued growth and increasing project activity, they are looking to appoint a Production Engineer to join their established engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Support electronic manufacturing challenges and influence NPI from concept through to production.
  • Ensure products meet the correct quality standards and diagnose problems effectively.
  • Set up and improve production processes, applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Conduct fault-finding down to component level to identify and resolve electrical and electronic issues.
  • Support shop floor activities, assist with functional testing and failure analysis.
  • Maintain clear and effective work instructions, operating procedures, and test specifications.
  • Write and develop test specifications and translate engineering requirements into practical production and test documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electronic, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Strong background in electronics, ideally within a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience fault-finding to component level within electronic systems.
  • Experience writing and developing test specifications, test procedures, and production documentation.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
  • Experience identifying production issues, carrying out root-cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting functional testing, failure analysis, and product troubleshooting.
