Electronic Systems Manager - London

We're recruiting on behalf of an established technology business that develops sophisticated hardware products for customers operating in highly regulated and security-focused sectors.

As the Electronic Systems Manager, you'll take ownership of the overall technical direction of complex hardware platforms, ensuring multiple engineering disciplines work together to deliver reliable, high-quality products. This is a leadership role with a strong technical focus, ideal for someone who enjoys solving engineering challenges while developing and supporting a high-performing team.

The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for the technical leadership of electronic systems throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring solutions are robust, manufacturable and meet demanding performance and compliance requirements.

Working closely with Electronics, Firmware, Mechanical, Product Management and Manufacturing teams, you'll coordinate the successful delivery of complex hardware platforms from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall architecture for complex electronic hardware systems.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful integration across hardware, embedded software and mechanical design.
  • Provide technical guidance on electronic system design, including digital electronics, mixed-signal circuits, power architecture and EMC considerations.
  • Oversee system integration, prototype evaluation, design verification and product validation activities.
  • Ensure products are designed to satisfy relevant regulatory, safety and quality standards before release to manufacture.
  • Identify technical risks early and drive appropriate mitigation plans throughout development.
  • Chair technical reviews, manage engineering documentation and maintain configuration control.
  • Support manufacturing, production test and customer support teams in resolving technical issues.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve product performance, quality, manufacturability and cost.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
