Trinity House works for the benefit and safety of all mariners as a General Lighthouse Authority and maritime charity. Our people are central to our reputation as a leading maritime organisation, as is our commitment as an employer to developing the skills, capabilities and potential of our workforce.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Incorporated by Royal Charter in 1514, Trinity House has safeguarded mariners and UK coastal waters for over 500 years. As the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar, we operate and maintain lighthouses, lightvessels and offshore buoys, combining maritime expertise with modern technology.
We are seeking a practical, hands-on Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to support Trinity House's specialist fleet and vital navigation service.
You will work across Trinity House's specialist fleet, maintaining established electrical systems alongside modern marine technology, while helping ensure smooth operational readiness as two new vessels are delivered in 2029 to replace the current fleet.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
