Role: Electronic Test Engineer

Location: Fareham

Duration: 6 months (likely extensions)

Rate: £27.50/hour PAYE

Holiday entitlement: 25 day per annum (accrued) + pension scheme

Shift pattern: 2pm - 10:30pm Mon - Thurs and 11am to 4pm Friday

Responsibilities

The Ideal candidate must be motivated to learn and routinely practice excellent calibration techniques, you will need to complete work according to business instructions, specifications and procedure. You ideally will be competent in reading drawings, conducting a variety of verification tests and calibration on electronic and electromechanical equipment with the use of a range of common electronics measurement equipment and specialist type equipment such as Pressure controllers, and ideally possess skills around basic engineering competencies, fine assembly, calibration and test procedures.

Qualifications

The Electronic Test Technician will:

  • Sets up and operates equipment to test/calibrate units/subassemblies as per instructions, specifications, and procedures.
  • Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analogue and digital circuitry to component level
  • Provide detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Carry out production/repair/assembly work as required within multiple departments on this site.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follows company safety policies.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, the ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Skilled in the use of electronic test equipment, hand tools, power tools and electric soldering. Ability to read circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to analyse and determine methods and procedures
  • Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications
