About the role

NOMW (“Not On My Watch”) Health https://nomw-health.co.uk/ is a UK health technology company developing LifeSavr, a class IIb medical device, designed to detect the signs of an opioid overdose and alert trained responders so they can intervene quickly. The company is committed to designing solutions in partnership with the communities they aim to serve.

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to design, develop, debug, and bring compact, low-power medical, wearable, optical, and connected devices from concept to production.

The opportunity

The role requires strong hands-on experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, RF, wireless, embedded, sensor, and photonics electronics, with responsibility for hardware architecture, PCB development, prototyping, validation, compliance, and production support.

What success looks like

  • Own electronics development from system architecture and component selection through schematic, PCB design, prototyping, validation, and production release.
  • Design analog, digital, high-speed, mixed-signal, low-noise, power, RF, and embedded circuits.
  • Develop precision sensor and optical signal-conditioning circuits using op-amps, photodiodes, LEDs, TIAs, filters, ADCs, and low-noise components.
  • Design compact, high-density multi-layer PCBs with appropriate stack-up, grounding, return paths, impedance control, signal integrity, and power integrity.
  • Develop ultra-low-power battery-operated systems, including charging, protection, fuel gauges, power-path management, DC/DC converters, LDOs, and power sequencing.
  • Design and integrate Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE/LTE-M/NB-IoT, GNSS/GPS, MEMS/IMU, and other sensor interfaces.
  • Design and integrate USB Type-C, USB Power Delivery (USB PD), USB-to-TTL/UART, and related protection/interface circuitry.

Key responsibilities

Product:

  • Design, develop, debug, and bring compact, low-power medical, wearable, optical, and connected devices from concept to production.

Ops:

  • Own electronics development from system architecture and component selection through schematic, PCB design, prototyping, validation, and production release.
  • Prepare and review manufacturing outputs including Gerber, BOM, POS/Pick-and-Place, ODB++, STEP, assembly drawings, and related production files.
  • Work with PCB/PCBA manufacturers, component suppliers, firmware, mechanical, quality, and regulatory teams through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of hands-on electronics product development experience.
  • Proven experience taking hardware from concept to production.
  • Strong experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, RF, and embedded hardware.
  • Experience with low-noise analog, photonics, and optical sensing circuits.
  • Experience with ultra-low-power Wi-Fi/BLE and battery-operated products.
  • Experience with USB Type-C, USB PD, USB-to-TTL/UART, and related circuitry.
  • Strong PCB design experience, including high-density multi-layer boards and compact form factors.
  • Proficiency with professional PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and/or KiCad.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, laboratory testing, soldering, PCB rework, and fault isolation.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC/ESD troubleshooting and compliance testing.
  • Ability to generate and review Gerber, BOM, POS, ODB++, STEP, and other manufacturing outputs.
  • Ability to use circuit simulation and engineering tools, including TI WEBENCH, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, and other relevant simulation/analysis platforms.
  • Ability to validate designs through simulation, calculations, laboratory measurements, and prototype testing.
  • Medical, wearable, healthcare, IoT, or other regulated-product experience is highly preferred.
  • Component-level hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • SMD/through-hole soldering and PCB rework.
  • Debugging power, sensor, RF, USB, wireless, and communication interfaces.
  • Low-noise signal-chain development using op-amps, TIAs, filters, and precision components.
  • Experience with photodiode/LED-based optical sensing and photonics electronics.
  • Ability to identify root causes of hardware failures and implement verified, production-ready solutions.
  • Practical experience with ISO 13485, and preferably IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, CISPR 11
  • Genuinely hands-on — able to design circuits, work directly with hardware, troubleshoot component-level issues, perform PCB rework, and take products from prototype through production.
