Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer

My client, a world leader in the defence sector, requires an Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer to join their team and take ownership of manufacturing test solutions from early product development through to production readiness for their range of missile and weapon systems.

This role offers the chance to build broader test engineering expertise across new products while developing your career within defence manufacturing.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting manufacturing test activities from concept development through to release into operations.
  • Contributing to test strategy development and influencing product testability during design phases.
  • Diagnosing electrical and electronic assembly failures to component level.
  • Supporting the introduction and control of test equipment, facilities and associated documentation.
  • Working closely with operations, design teams and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
  • Driving continuous improvement while meeting programme, cost, quality and delivery objectives.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (HND or degree level would be preferred). You will have previous experience of analogue and digital electronics test and fault diagnosis. With a background within manufacturing, production test or a similar engineering environment.

You will have:

  • Understanding of electrical and electronic measurement principles and test equipment.
  • Experience using manual and automated production test systems.
  • Knowledge of fault-finding techniques for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with ERP and manufacturing execution systems such as SAP or MES.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple activities and deliver against project requirements.
  • Strong technical reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Circa £44,500 depending on experience.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working, typically 4 to 5 days per week on site due to operational needs.
