About the Role
Can you diagnose faults down to individual components and repair the board yourself? We are recruiting an experienced Electronics Repair Engineer for a global technology business specialising in extending the life of telecoms and network equipment.
You will test, diagnose and repair electronic hardware, helping return equipment to service and reduce unnecessary waste. This opportunity would suit a capable bench engineer who enjoys solving complex faults and developing practical repair solutions.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing electronic faults at PCB and component level.
- Repairing boards using SMT and through-hole soldering techniques.
- Testing and screening equipment against manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
- Reverse engineering boards to understand their operation where technical documentation is limited.
- Completing hardware and software updates where required.
- Recording repair findings, test results and equipment history accurately.
- Developing and documenting repair methods for new equipment entering the workshop.
- Sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of other repair engineers.
- Working to agreed customer deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For
- Substantial hands-on experience in component-level electronics diagnostics, PCB repair and testing, alongside a sound understanding of electronic components and circuit operation.
- Confidence working independently, investigating unfamiliar faults and explaining your findings clearly.
- Experience with PDH/SDH equipment, digital microwave, datacomms, GSM base stations, switching systems or power supplies would be particularly relevant.
