New long term Contract for the role of Electronics Test Engineer

Location: Birmingham (Office Based)
Contract Duration: 12 months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

The Role

We are seeking experienced Electronics Test Engineers to support development, validation, and qualification testing of aerospace and marine engine electronic control systems. The role involves working on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), test rig development, test software development, and validation of critical electronic hardware used in safety-critical engine applications.

The successful candidate will be involved in the complete test lifecycle, from requirements analysis through test software development, system validation, troubleshooting, and production support.

Essential skills/experience:

Technical Skills:

  • 4-10 years of electronics test engineering experience within Aerospace, Defence, Marine, Automotive, Rail, or other safety-critical industries.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • NI LabVIEW
    • NI TestStand
    • Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
    • PXI-based test systems
    • Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems
  • Good understanding of:
    • Digital and analogue electronics
    • Electronic control systems
    • Sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
    • Serial communication protocols (RS232, RS485, CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet)
  • Experience in test software development and validation.
  • Strong fault-finding and debugging capability.
