Location: SEA LIFE Centre, Brindley Place, Birmingham, B1 2HL
Hours: Guaranteed hours
Contract Type: Fixed term
Wanted: Christmas Elves. We’re currently seeking Character Actors with a flair for improvisation who can help spread Christmas cheer at SEA LIFE Birmingham!
As a Christmas Elf you'll be based in our very own enchanted grotto for guests to enjoy safe, festive fun with their nearest and DEER-est. This will involve being in character as an Elf, assisting with various activities and supporting Father Christmas.
This is a guest facing role, to support and engage with guests that are visiting our event during this magical time. You'll be required to be in character as an Elf for each shift during the event, so you must be confident in characterisation and performance. Strong guest interaction skills are also a must! Keeping the Christmas magic alive, you will support the operational teams with safety measures and be on hand to check tickets and help guests wherever needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
