Job Title

We have an exiting opportunity to join our busy Employers Liability & Public Liability (EL/PL) team managing a litigated caseload of personal injury claims and potentially a limited number of CICA claims from denial to settlement or trial in an established, forward-thinking Legal 500 firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of denied EL/PL personal injury claims from denial to settlement or trial.
  • Reading and refreshing your knowledge of the LPU Litigation Policy.
  • Making pre-action disclosure applications where required.
  • Assessing liability and disclosure on denied claims within 21 days of receipt and making your own decision in light of all the evidence and the LPU litigation policy on whether to proceed.
  • Accurately identifying risks and referring concerns to your team leader, the PDL or Head of Practice as soon as practicable.
  • Obtaining and valuing medical evidence, noting any unusual features or recommendation for further referral.
  • Preparing comprehensive schedules of loss to support the client’s claim.
  • Handling client discussions regarding valuation report where required.
  • Negotiating with the Defendant’s solicitor post-issue of Court proceedings.
  • Careful diary management in preparing directions questionnaire, list of documents, witness evidence, pre-trial checklist and preparing for trial including booking Counsel and preparing trial bundles, Briefs and case summaries.
  • Reporting to ATE provider throughout and as per service level agreement.
  • Meeting KPIs including data integrity, inactivity levels, chargeable hours, unpaid bills and revenue targets.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have demonstrated experience in managing a caseload of EL/PL claims.
  • Have a good track record of consistently achieving billing and time recording targets.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
