What you'll do

As the Email Marketing Manager at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a comprehensive email and push marketing strategy to maximise online purchasing frequency, drive Digital Nectar participation, and support commercial, customer, and brand objectives. You will collaborate with various teams to develop detailed marketing plans, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and oversee the deployment of email campaigns to ensure accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. Your role will involve forecasting and reporting on email performance, as well as identifying and leading strategic projects to enhance audience understanding, optimise digital experiences, maximise personalization, streamline automation, and improve measurement effectiveness. Additionally, you will manage a team of Email Marketing Assistants and work closely with agency and tech partners to continuously improve campaign effectiveness and efficiency.

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience developing and delivering successful email and/or push marketing strategies.
  • Experienced in CRM, email marketing, customer lifecycle marketing, and personalisation techniques.
  • Experience using marketing data and analytics to optimise campaign performance and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Experience forecasting, reporting, and presenting marketing performance metrics and insights.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
