M J Tech Limited are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Number 1/2 race mechanics to join our team based in Bicester.

We provide a unique facility offering restoration and race car preparation. With 45 years’ experience in motorsport and engineering.

We work on a variety of cars so you must be adaptable with strong mechanical skills.

Experience And Skills

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in top level motorsport.
  • Car build and preparation.
  • Experience of working both within a workshop and track side is essential.
  • Accurate fault recording and reporting.
  • Excellent computer, administrative and communication skills.
  • The ability to use your own initiative.
  • Able to work with engineering drawings and manuals.
  • Able to use and understand measuring equipment.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a small professional team.
  • Flexible approach to working, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

The Role

  • Car build and preparation to a high standard in the workshop.
  • Reporting faults to the team manager or engineer.
  • Diagnosing and solving mechanical problems, at times under pressure during races.
  • Record keeping, including job sheets using IT software.
  • Trackside support at events.
  • Able to work under own initiative in an organised proactive way.
  • Able to prioritise work.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a pride in your work.

You must be physically fit as you will be required to help with loading and unloading at events.

This position is factory based in Bicester, but you will be required to attend events often over weekends at various locations across the UK and worldwide.
