Senior Security Software Engineer – Crypto & Security

Join one of the largest industrial security teams and build technology that protects real devices worldwide. At NXP’s Competence Center Crypto & Security, we design, develop, and deliver end-to-end security—from innovation to architecture to products in the field.

If you’re a security engineer passionate about real-world impact on cryptographic and security solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

Ready to Join the Future of Crypto & Security?

When you join NXP, you’ll broaden your technical expertise in security, cryptography, and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop crypto algorithms (including post-quantum cryptography) from specifications, covering coding, programming, testing, and release stages
  • Collaborate with innovation, architectural, hardware development, and support teams to create algorithms that contribute to a complete security subsystem across NXP’s business lines
  • Align with engineering and research teams to ensure your work integrates seamlessly into secure product offerings

Your Profile

We welcome candidates with one of the following qualifications:

Qualification 1 (Experience-based)

  • Bachelor’s degree + 3–5 years of relevant experience in cryptography, cybersecurity, or embedded systems

Qualification 2 (Academic-degree-based)

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or Cryptography
  • No prior experience required for recent graduates (PhD or Master’s)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
