Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Insight Global are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a leading global manufacturing and engineering organisation specialising in condition monitoring instrumentation, sensors, and fluid management technologies.

This position requires 4 days onsite in Littlehampton, UK.

The successful candidate will join an engineering team responsible for developing innovative monitoring and filtration products, taking ownership of embedded software development throughout the product lifecycle. The role focuses on delivering reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective embedded solutions while ensuring products meet customer requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in embedded systems development.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems design, including C/C++ memory management, microprocessor architectures, instruction efficiency, and I/O timing.
  • Experience using embedded debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and JTAG.
  • Ability to identify, analyse, and improve low-level system performance issues.
  • Experience managing products through the full development lifecycle.
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency programming in C/C++.
  • Experience working with Microchip (PIC32) and/or ARM processors.
  • Experience developing software for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
  • Understanding of networking protocols including CANbus, Modbus, TCP, and UDP.
  • Experience with SPI, I2C, and other embedded communication interfaces.
  • Knowledge of sensors, DC power supplies, stepper motors, and BLDC motors.
  • Experience using Git, Team Foundation Server, or similar source control platforms.
  • Ability to create technical design documentation covering software architecture and algorithms.
