Embedded Software Engineer | Newcastle upon Tyne | £35-45k DOE
My client is a rapidly growing consultancy operating exclusively in high growth sectors solving some of the UK’s biggest engineering challenges.
Their team is populated with experienced engineers & provides an exceptional environment for a graduate or junior engineer to accelerate their career in embedded systems.
Responsibilities:
- Developing high-quality embedded and systems software primarily using C and/or C++
- Working with Linux-based embedded and software platforms
- Investigating difficult technical problems and debugging issues at both software and system level
- Working with engineers, technical specialists, and clients to understand requirements and develop pragmatic solutions
- Taking ownership of development tasks and seeing them through from initial concept to delivery

Required Experience
Education
- 1st class BEng in electronics or computer engineering from a top 100 global university
- Strong A-Levels in maths & science subjects
Technical
- Strong C/C++ on embedded Linux & RTOS platforms
- Experience with serial and/or network protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, etc.)
- Experience with Python, and another higher-level language like C#
- Completed performance critical software projects

- Industrial experience in commercially challenging/highly regulated sectors
