Embedded Software Engineer | Royston – Hybrid | Medical Devices
A consultancy developing life-saving medical devices is looking for an embedded software engineer with 2-5 years of experience who wants to move to a low-level, design-focused role. This company works on the whole lifecycle, so you’ll get a significant degree of ownership & influence over design decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Developing high-quality, well-documented software
- Working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements capture through to verification and release
- Client-facing communication with technical & non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
- 2-5 years of commercial software development in C and/or C++
- Embedded and real-time experience using an RTOS or bare metal
- Working knowledge of Python, and experience with Git for version control

Desirable:
- Hardware design appreciation, or experience working closely with hardware
- Embedded Linux experience
- Familiarity with medical software development standards like 62304 or 60601
