Embedded Software Team Leader | Greenwich | £70,000–£75,000 + Car Allow. + Bonus & Ex Benefits | Permanent

Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer ready to take the next step into technical leadership?

We’re looking for an Electronics Software Team Leader to lead a small team of 3–4 software engineers, whilst remaining 60% hands-on with software development and technical delivery.

You’ll work on complex, high-reliability electronic systems where software performance and reliability are critical.

The Role:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of 3–4 engineers
  • Remain hands-on with C/C++ development
  • Develop real-time software using Linux and/or VxWorks
  • Contribute to software architecture and technical decisions
  • Take ownership from requirements through to testing, validation and release
  • Troubleshoot complex software, hardware and integration issues
  • Work with protocols including SPI, CAN, USB, Ethernet and serial communications
  • Support production, commissioning and product support
  • Drive improvements to engineering tools, processes and practices

We’re Looking For:

  • Strong commercial experience in embedded/real-time software
  • Excellent C/C++ skills
  • Experience with Linux, VxWorks or another RTOS
  • Experience developing high-reliability or mission-critical systems
  • Strong understanding of software architecture
  • Full software lifecycle experience
  • Experience leading, mentoring or managing software engineers
  • Good understanding of version control, ideally Git/Bitbucket
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Software, Electronics or a related discipline

Experience with DSP, FPGA/VHDL, cybersecurity, Agile/Scrum or embedded GUIs would be advantageous.
