Embedded Systems Engineer Job – Middlesex
An exciting Embedded Systems Engineer job is available in Middlesex for an engineer with a passion for designing advanced automated test and measurement systems for high power RF and microwave products. This Embedded Systems Engineer job offers the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology while supporting the development, validation and production of complex RF amplifiers.
The Embedded Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Design and develop Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for high power RF amplifiers.
- Interface test systems with Vector Network Analysers (VNAs), RF power meters, spectrum analysers and other laboratory equipment.
- Design safe test solutions for equipment operating with hazardous voltages.
- Develop computer controlled test procedures and automated data capture systems.
- Support Production Test Engineers with component level fault finding and root cause investigations.
- Work alongside Design Engineers to ensure products are designed for efficient testing.
- Write and maintain Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and TWT alignment procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, manufacture, commission and verify custom test equipment and fixtures.
- Develop and maintain ATE software and configuration control.
- Ensure all test equipment and procedures meet safety requirements.
- Develop and approve Acceptance Test Procedures.
- Support First Article Inspection, Design Validation and Product Qualification testing.
- Provide detailed fault finding and root cause analysis to support production.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- BSc or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
- Experience with analogue electronic circuits.
- Knowledge of power electronics.
- Experience using RF and microwave measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of LabVIEW for ATE design and implementation.
- Understanding of high voltage safety hazards and protection methods.
- Strong fault-finding and analytical skills.
