Role: Embedded System Engineer
Location: Warwick, UK
Contract: 6 Months
Work Mode: Hybrid
Requirements
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Detailed working knowledge of a wide range of automotive systems
- Broad knowledge of systems interfacing, communication, and integration
- Requirements capture & management from stakeholder through implementation and functional testing
- Understanding of the ‘V’ development model
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical engineering principles
- Experience/ability to generate electrical interconnection schematic diagrams
- System start up and commissioning
- Hands-on approach to rig and vehicle-based systems testing (DVP driven)
Education, Training, or Qualifications
- Minimum qualification degree in relevant engineering subject
- 2-3 years industrial experience
Skills and Abilities
- Able to communicate technically complex subjects to wide-ranging audiences
- V model validation methods DVP&R (Design validation plan & report) generation
- Able to fault find and rectify system issues
- Able to work to tight timescales & maintain appropriate level of detail

Other Requirements
- Occasional overtime
- Occasional overseas travel
- Engineering support/off-site visits including test facilities
- Visits to other companies for engineering integration
Individual Job Purpose (including key role responsibilities)
- Systems engineering-based development for vehicle platforms
- Stakeholder function and feature capture including applicable regulation and standards
- System requirement development and documentation
- Creating vehicle systems architectures and topologies
- Lead multi-system integration including communication, electrical, & mechanical aspects internally and with suppliers
- Creating electrical schematics
- Create supporting documentation for production and aftermarket
- System and vehicle start-up, commissioning, and fault finding

Verification & Validation
- Input into DVP for feature function, systems, vehicle performance, and their acceptance requirements
- Support the implementation of test procedures that enable validation and verification execution and reporting
- Support software & testing team with validation activities, including on vehicle
- Review test outputs to confirm system/vehicle performance acceptance
Team Working and Communication
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels within the company (written / verbal).
- Able to communicate effectively with external suppliers / customers.
- Demonstrable team skills as a member and a leader.
- Open, honest, and timely reporting of tasks.
- Able to coach and mentor others in new topics
- Aware of wider business issues where priority conflicts arise
