Embedded Lead Recruitment Consultant – Cyber Security
📍 Central London / Hybrid
🏢 2–3 days per week on-site
💰 £70,000 - £75,000 package
What if you could step away from the traditional recruitment desk and become the recruitment function for a growing cyber security business?
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Recruitment Consultant / Talent Acquisition professional to join Big Red Recruitment in an embedded role with one of our specialist cyber security clients.
You’ll work directly with the senior leadership team, taking genuine ownership of their permanent recruitment strategy — from shaping briefs and sourcing specialist cyber talent through to managing offers and supporting new starters through their first 30 days.
But this role goes much further than filling vacancies. Around half of your time will be focused on live recruitment, with the other half dedicated to building and engaging specialist cyber talent communities across areas such as penetration testing, SOC operations and cyber consultancy. The aim is to create warm, qualified talent pipelines that are ready when the business needs to hire.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you’ll be doing:
- Owning end-to-end permanent recruitment across the business
- Partnering directly with senior leadership on hiring strategy
- Proactively mapping and sourcing specialist cyber security talent
- Building and maintaining engaged talent pools
- Running targeted, multichannel sourcing campaigns
- Managing interviews, offers and the candidate journey
- Supporting onboarding through a new hire’s first 30 days
- Tracking recruitment activity, pipeline and performance
- Working alongside marketing on employer brand and talent community initiatives
The role is expected to support around 15 - 25 permanent hires per year, so this isn’t about chasing huge volumes or hammering KPIs. It’s about quality, relationships, proactive sourcing and becoming a genuine talent partner to the business.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll have solid end-to-end permanent recruitment experience within cyber security or the wider technology market, either agency-side or in-house.
You should be comfortable with proactive sourcing techniques including market mapping, Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter and multichannel campaigns, and confident enough to work directly with senior stakeholders and challenge a hiring brief when necessary.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You don’t need to be a cyber security expert, but you’ll need enough knowledge of the market to have credible conversations with people such as penetration testers, SOC analysts and GRC consultants.
Experience within an embedded, RPO or in-house talent acquisition environment, recruiting security-cleared professionals, or building talent communities would be particularly useful.
The working pattern
You’ll typically spend 2–3 days per week at the client’s Central London office, with the remainder working remotely, plus 1–2 days per month at Big Red Recruitment’s Stratford-upon-Avon office.
If you’re an experienced technology or cyber recruiter who wants ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to build something rather than inherit another recruitment desk, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply via LinkedIn or get in touch with Big Red Recruitment for a confidential conversation.
