Role Description
The EMDR Specialist will provide trauma-focused therapy to clients using Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) within a hybrid working model based in London, with some flexibility for remote sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting clinical assessments
- Developing and implementing EMDR treatment plans
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborating with other clinicians to ensure continuity of care
- Monitoring client progress
- Adjusting interventions as needed
- Participating in case consultations and supervision

This is a contract role that requires adherence to ethical and professional standards, engagement in ongoing professional development, and contribution to a supportive, inclusive clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Accredited training and certification in EMDR therapy, with demonstrated competence in delivering EMDR to diverse client populations.
- Professional qualification and registration as a psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, or equivalent mental health practitioner (e.g., HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, or similar).
- Experience in trauma-focused therapy, risk assessment, and clinical formulation in outpatient or private practice settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills, with the ability to foster a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
- High standards of clinical documentation, organisational skills, and ability to manage a caseload within a hybrid working arrangement.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in regular supervision and reflective practice.
- Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health care, with sensitivity to cultural, social, and individual differences.

Desirable:
- Experience working in private clinics
- Familiarity with digital therapy platforms
- Additional training in complementary modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies)
