About the Role

We have been instructed to appoint an EMEA Engineering Director to lead engineering excellence across a large, multi-country facilities management portfolio. This role will drive technical strategy, engineering compliance, asset management, and operational performance across complex client estates throughout the UK & Europe.

You will play a critical role in shaping engineering standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving asset performance, and supporting major account growth across mission-critical and corporate environments.

This is a senior leadership position requiring a blend of strategic thinking, technical authority, and operational delivery expertise within the facilities management or built environment sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the EMEA engineering strategy aligned with organisational goals and client requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership across all engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical,
  • Lead and mentor regional engineering teams, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
  • Ensure full compliance with regional engineering regulations, statutory obligations, and safety standards.
  • Establish and maintain engineering governance frameworks, policies, and best practice standards.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for engineering compliance across the EMEA portfolio.
  • Drive improvements in asset reliability, lifecycle management, and engineering performance.
  • Standardise maintenance methodologies and engineering processes across multiple countries.
  • Support operational teams in delivering high-quality engineering services to key accounts.
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams to support new business opportunities and technical solutions.
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders as the technical subject matter expert.
  • Lead technical mobilisation of major contracts and complex sites.
  • Champion engineering innovation including digital maintenance, smart buildings, energy optimisation, and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Support clients in achieving sustainability, energy efficiency, and ESG targets.
