We're seeking a Loan Operations Consultant to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our international Investment Banking client.
Please note, this is an initial PAYE Umbrella contract until May 2027 and you may be required to work onsite up to 5 days per week in London.
Summary
As a Loan Operations Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting our investment banking operations client by managing the operational aspects of the loan portfolio. You will ensure seamless transaction closures, maintain rigorous documentation standards, and serve as a key liaison between multiple internal departments and external stakeholders. Your expertise in loan operations will directly contribute to the successful growth and compliance of the lending business across the EMEA region.
You Will
- Work closely with loan origination teams, structured lending businesses, and legal teams to coordinate the closing process of new primary transactions
- Conduct detailed reviews of loan documentation from an operational perspective to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Assess operational risks on structured transactions and implement effective management strategies
- Collaborate with the servicing team to ensure accurate and smooth settlement processes and ongoing portfolio management
- Provide support to trading desks, Product Control, and external stakeholders with operational queries and guidance
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills when liaising with internal departments including trading, sales, legal, product control, and risk management
- Display strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to multi-task while managing competing priorities
- Maintain flexibility and enthusiasm when responding to evolving business requirements

Ideally, We'd Like
- Proven experience as a primary and secondary loan closer
- LoanIQ experience ideally required*
- Demonstrated familiarity with loan documentation review and assessment
- Technical experience with Loan servicing knowledge and related operational platforms
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset with a commitment to understanding the broader business context
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments
- A self-motivated approach to professional development and continuous improvement
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities and operational demands
