Position Overview
The Marketing Finance Specialist is responsible for managing the financial processes that support the Digital marketing organisation. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and governance of budget management, financial planning, accruals, invoicing, and reporting activities across multiple regions and stakeholders.
Working closely with Paid Media Managers, Finance teams, agency partners, and marketing stakeholders, the specialist provides financial oversight and support throughout the planning and execution cycle. The role helps ensure that media investments are tracked accurately, financial commitments are properly managed, and reporting reflects actual spend and budget allocations.
A key focus of this role is driving accuracy and discipline across complex financial processes, particularly the quarterly accrual process, where spend may span multiple channels, vendors, cost centers, purchase orders, and reporting systems.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, operational discipline, and stakeholder management. They are comfortable managing complex financial workflows, identifying discrepancies, resolving issues across multiple teams, and improving processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and financial accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budget Management
- Manage annual, quarterly, and ad hoc budget planning activities across the Global Digital Marketing organisation
- Maintain budget tracking documentation and provide regular visibility into media investments and spending
- Monitor budget pacing and identify potential over- or under-spend risks with the industry POCs and agencies
- Support forecasting activities and assist in developing budget recommendations for internal Digital Media team
- Ensure budget changes and reallocations are accurately documented and reflected across financial tracking systems
Accruals & Financial Reporting
- Own the quarterly accrual process across all digital marketing channels, regions, and agency partners
- Coordinate the collection, validation, consolidation, and submission of accrual information within required Finance deadlines
- Ensure accruals accurately reflect services delivered, media consumed, outstanding invoices, and financial commitments
- Partner with Paid Media Managers, agencies, and Finance teams to identify missing charges, validate estimates, and resolve accrual discrepancies
- Reconcile accruals against subsequent invoices and actual spend to continuously improve accrual accuracy
- Maintain clear documentation and supporting evidence for accrual submissions and adjustments
- Prepare regular financial summaries, spend reports, and variance analyses for the Digital Media team and leadership
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close and reporting activities

Budget Reconciliation & Financial Controls
- Lead regular reconciliations across approved budgets, media platform spend, agency reporting, purchase orders, invoices, accruals, and internal financial systems
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between financial sources, working cross-functionally to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Ensure paid media investments are allocated to the appropriate cost centers, accounts, purchase orders, and financial coding
- Track financial commitments and ensure they are accurately reflected in budget and forecasting views
- Maintain financial documentation, reconciliation records, and audit trails in accordance with governance requirements
- Ensure compliance with Autodesk financial policies, processes, controls, and reporting standards
Agency Financial Management
- Manage financial operations with agency and vendor partners, including purchase orders, invoicing, fees, media investment tracking, and payment-related issues
- Own the annual and quarterly process for opening, tracking, updating, and managing purchase orders
- Monitor purchase order balances and ensure sufficient funding is available for planned and committed investments
- Review and validate agency invoices and supporting documentation before processing
- Track agency fees, media spend, and other financial commitments against approved budgets and purchase orders
- Partner with agencies and internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies, incorrect charges, missing invoices, and payment issues
- Ensure invoices are submitted, coded, approved, and processed within required timelines
- Maintain visibility into outstanding invoices and financial commitments to minimize late charges, missed accruals, or unexpected spend
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a key financial operations partner to Paid Media Managers, team leads, Finance teams, agencies, and other marketing stakeholders
- Communicate financial deadlines, budget changes, accrual requirements, reconciliation findings, and reporting expectations clearly and proactively
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on financial processes, budget tracking, purchase orders, invoicing, and accrual requirements
- Partner with teams to resolve financial issues efficiently while maintaining appropriate controls and governance
Qualifications
- Experience in finance, financial operations, accounting, budget management, media finance, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, purchase orders, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Experience managing complex financial processes involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, budgets, or cost centers
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and reconcile multiple financial data sources
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and financial cycles simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex processes, and proactively identify financial risks or issues
- Advanced proficiency with Excel or equivalent financial analysis tools
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems, reporting tools, or procurement platforms is preferred
- Experience supporting marketing, paid media, advertising, or agency financial operations is an asset
