Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced strategic marketing professional to lead customer-back growth exploration across EMEA. Reporting directly to the Divisional Strategic Marketing Manager, this role will independently manage Explore projects from sub-segment prioritization through market analysis, customer-site ‘Voice of Customer’ research, opportunity development, and executive recommendations. The role will collaborate closely with EMEA Sales, Product Management, Marketing, R&D, channel partners, regional leadership, and divisional leadership to build a pipeline of high-conviction growth opportunities.

Essential Job Duties:

EMEA Explore & Innovation Strategy

  • Own the development and execution of the EMEA Explore roadmap in alignment with divisional growth priorities.
  • Lead multiple Explore projects from kickoff through opportunity recommendation, maintaining clear objectives, hypotheses, milestones, owners, risks, and decision points.
  • Partner with regional and divisional leadership to identify and prioritize attractive markets and sub-segments based on strategic fit, customer concentration, market growth, revenue potential, competitive position, and Magnaflux’s ability to win.
  • Develop project charters and research plans that define the business question, scope, target customers, knowledge gaps, required evidence, timing, and governance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Voice of Customer & Customer-Site Research

  • Develop research plans, customer target lists, interview guides, process-mapping approaches, and testable hypotheses for each Explore project.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, and channel partners to secure access to relevant end users, technical influencers, operators, quality leaders, buyers, decision makers, and other value-chain stakeholders.
  • Plan and conduct in-person EMEA customer-site visits and virtual interviews, including observation of customer workflows, inspection processes, current solutions, and workarounds where appropriate.
  • Use open-ended and probing questions to uncover root causes, unmet needs, desired outcomes, operational impact, buying criteria, satisfaction with current alternatives, and willingness to change.
  • Apply a What? So What? Now What? framework to connect evidence with business implications and recommended actions.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Economics, Market Research, or a related field is required.
  • Seven or more years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, product management, innovation, market intelligence, commercial strategy, management consulting, or a related B2B industrial role.
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading segmentation, growth strategy, market-entry, customer-back innovation, or adjacent-market projects from an ambiguous business question through executive recommendation.
  • Proven experience conducting in-depth customer interviews or observational research and converting evidence into value propositions, strategic recommendations, products, services, or commercial opportunities.
  • Strong analytical capability in market sizing, trend analysis, competitive intelligence, data interpretation, and preliminary business-case development.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver concise leadership-level presentations.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and levels without formal authority and to work autonomously in a matrixed international environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across EMEA for customer visits, internal meetings, workshops, and industry events.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English required; an additional European language is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams is required. Experience with Salesforce and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
