This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping operational excellence across the region, supporting both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. You will be at the heart of driving standardisation, centralisation, and optimisation initiatives that impact the entire EMEA network. With a focus on nurturing relationships and fostering collaboration, this position provides a platform for you to contribute meaningfully to global offshoring and outsourcing projects while enjoying flexible working arrangements and generous training opportunities. MUFG’s commitment to inclusive growth, supportive leadership, and professional development ensures you will thrive in a warm, dependable environment where your interpersonal skills and attention to detail are highly valued.
What you'll do:

- Keep an accurate issue log using standardised tools and document minutes for Performance Evaluation Meetings to ensure transparency across all stakeholders.
- Identify irregularities or inefficiencies in operation flows and work collaboratively with teams to standardise processes wherever possible.
- Act as the primary contact for any concerns regarding services provided by EMEA Operations or outsourced/offshored parties, ensuring prompt resolution through empathetic communication.
- Promote standardisation and centralisation initiatives by identifying opportunities for improvement and obtaining agreement from internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement process improvements between EMEA offices by gathering materials, analysing current systems, designing future models, and creating execution plans with your line manager.
- Perform tasks according to agreed plans within required timelines to contribute towards achieving overall project goals while managing progress, issues, risks, and providing timely status updates.
- Support team members in delivering planned outputs by offering guidance and occasionally carrying out tasks yourself when necessary to foster communal success.
- Contribute actively to global offshoring/outsourcing initiatives by supporting team members on specific project tasks and collaborating with MUFG’s captive centre in India (MGS) for effective management of offshored functions.
- Maintain entity-neutral responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc by following regulatory requirements and escalating conflicts of interest appropriately.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
