Head of Professional, EMEA

Location: London or Glasgow - Hybrid

Travel: Approximately 30%, across EMEA, plus periodic travel to global headquarters and key industry events

Role Summary

The Head of Professional, EMEA owns and leads the Professional business across the region, covering the residential and commercial-lite custom installation market. This is a senior, externally experienced hire who combines deep professional audio knowledge with commercial drive and a strategic mindset. The role is a strategic pillar of the company with strong growth ambitions. You will build and execute a distributor-led growth strategy, raise the capability of the Professional account team, and act as the European voice in global product and Professional decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership and P&L Growth

  • Own the EMEA Professional strategy, annual plan and P&L, delivering sustained revenue and margin growth.
  • Build and execute distributor-led go-to-market strategies across the custom installation, integrator and system-integrator channels.
  • Develop strategic relationships with distributors, key integrators, consultants and industry bodies.
  • Set commercial priorities by country and segment, balancing the residential and commercial-lite opportunity.
  • Use data and market insight to guide investment, pricing, channel and portfolio decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the Professional Account Managers, setting clear objectives, standards and accountability.
  • Raise the team's commercial, technical and strategic capability, and shape the structure and talent mix as the business grows.
  • Drive consistent account planning and execution across all countries.

Product and Roadmap Influence

  • Partner with Product Management and with hardware and software engineering teams to represent the needs of the EMEA Professional market.
  • Turn customer, distributor and installer feedback into clear, prioritised requirements that influence future product roadmap decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance on product positioning, system design, integration and competitive differentiation.

Global and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the European voice on the Global Professional Steering Committee, working with the Americas and global Professional leaders.
  • Work across Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, Finance, Legal and the regional teams to deliver the Professional strategy.
  • Represent Sonos Professional at industry events, trade shows and partner forums.

Customer and Market Expertise

  • Act as the senior technical and commercial voice for key customers and partners, advising on solution design and best practice.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies across European markets, including networked AV and control-system integration.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in the European professional audio, AV or custom installation market, ideally with a leading brand, manufacturer or distributor.
  • A proven record of driving revenue and P&L growth through distributor-led and integrator-led channels.
  • Strong technical understanding of professional audio and AV technology and system integration, with credibility in both residential and commercial-lite environments.
  • An established professional network across European distributors, integrators and industry stakeholders.
  • Experience of European markets, with a working understanding of regional differences in channel structure, regulation and buying behaviour.
  • Experience leading or influencing sales teams, directly or through a matrix, and developing talent.
  • A strategic thinker who is also a hands-on executor, able to turn strategy into plans and plans into results.
  • Experience working with product, engineering or R&D teams and influencing roadmap decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the presence to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with leading control and automation platforms and networked AV standards, such as Dante, Crestron, Control4, Savant, AVIXA or CEDIA frameworks.
  • Experience in a consumer-technology or hybrid consumer and professional business.
  • Experience working in a global organisation and in global steering or governance forums.
  • Additional European languages, particularly German, French or Spanish.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, audio or acoustic technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Industry certifications (such as CEDIA, AVIXA CTS or manufacturer-specific training) are an advantage but not required.
  • Fluent English is required. Additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Right to work in the country of employment.
