EMEA VAT Compliance & Risk Manager - Vice President

Are you an experienced VAT professional who enjoys both getting things done and making things better, is curious and keen to continue developing, and is looking to combine technical VAT expertise, operational ownership and strategic influence? Join JPMorgan's EMEA Corporate Tax team to help manage indirect tax risk and VAT compliance obligations across Europe while helping shape the future operating model.

As an EMEA VAT Compliance & Risk Manager - Vice President in Tax department you will enjoy both the technical and operational aspects of VAT and will be motivated by effective tax risk management. You will maintain oversight of indirect tax developments across selected jurisdictions, own oversight of VAT reporting for a portfolio of legal entities, and play an integral role in shaping the future indirect tax operating model through process simplification, automation, enhanced data-driven controls and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.

This is a hands-on role in a dynamic international environment, working closely with tax and non-tax colleagues across multiple jurisdictions and cultures. Beyond the core responsibilities, this role offers significant opportunities for professional development. Working alongside experienced VAT and tax professionals across the EMEA Corporate Tax team, you will gain insight into a wide range of financial services products, their VAT implications across jurisdictions, and broader tax and international tax developments affecting the firm.

Job responsibilities

  • Own oversight of VAT returns and indirect tax reporting obligations for a portfolio of European legal entities.
  • Partner closely with offshore teams to ensure high-quality, efficient and well-controlled delivery of compliance activities.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and control enhancements across the region.
  • Monitor and assess indirect tax risks, regulatory developments and emerging obligations across assigned jurisdictions.
  • Identify and lead the resolution of VAT issues.
  • Support tax audits, enquiries and other risk management activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with VAT and tax specialists across the Global Corporate Tax team to address technical matters and emerging tax developments.
  • Contribute ideas and challenge constructively to support the continued evolution of the EMEA VAT operating model.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
