About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and their medical team. This role involves managing sensitive patient records, coordinating communications with healthcare professionals and patients, and maintaining clinical documentation with discretion and accuracy. You will also be responsible for coordinating Emergency Department rotas across multiple staff groups and handling associated administrative tasks.
This is a pivotal role requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the Consultant and designated medical staff and their teams.
- Be responsible for maintaining records, both manually and on a computer system, and demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information, i.e., clinical letters, investigations, and results.
- Act as the first point of contact for all methods of communication on behalf of the Consultant and his/her medical team from GP’s, patients, and relatives, Consultants, and other Hospitals.
- Be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the Emergency Department rotas across multiple staff groups and any associated administration tasks.
