Role
We're partnering with a Regulatory Reporting Consultancy, as it builds out the transformation and implementation expertise behind its client projects.
This is a client-facing role. You will be deployed into institutional clients - typically banks and financial institutions - to implement technology: establishing their existing reporting obligations, understanding what they currently report and from where, and mapping that landscape onto the specification.
The work is transformation-led. Clients typically arrive with their data spread across a number of separate systems, and the first task is to make sense of that estate: tracing where each reportable attribute originates, identifying what is missing, and building the mapping that allows the client to meet its EMIR and MiFIR obligations. The role combines hands-on business analysis with project management, so you will be in the detail of the data while also driving the engagement forward.
Engagements typically run for several months and frequently longer. Candidates based anywhere in Europe will be considered, provided they work within a European time zone. The first engagement is expected to begin early in the new year.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the business analyst and project lead on implementation engagements, working alongside client teams
- Establish and document each client's reporting obligations and current reporting arrangements across EMIR and MiFIR
- Analyse client data across multiple source systems, tracing where each reportable attribute originates and how it flows
- Map the client's data landscape to the reporting specification, identifying gaps, ambiguities, and attributes that require sourcing elsewhere
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical data requirements, drawing on an understanding of how the industry operationalises EMIR and MiFIR obligations
- Plan and drive the engagement, tracking progress, managing dependencies, and keeping delivery to schedule
- Identify where client data quality or availability would affect accurate reporting, and define what is needed to close those gaps
- Lead working sessions with client stakeholders across operations, technology, and compliance to resolve mapping questions and interpretive issues
- Produce clear mapping documentation, business requirements, and supporting analysis for both client and internal use
- Support testing and validation of reporting outputs ahead of client go-live
- Help shape the direction of the analysis, with scope to lead or co-lead the engagement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
