Air Quality Monitoring Technician
Overview
Are you an enthusiastic and practical individual with a passion for environmental monitoring? We are seeking a dedicated Air Quality Monitoring Technician to join our specialist team in Manchester. As one of the largest independent air quality consultancies in the north:west, we offer a dynamic and supportive environment where you can contribute to impactful projects and play a key role in the future development of the business.
Responsibilities
As an Air Quality Monitoring Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting ambient air quality monitoring using passive and continuous automatic methods.
- Performing indoor air quality monitoring.
- Undertaking field odour assessments and source:specific measurements.
- Carrying out bioaerosol monitoring and industrial emissions characterisation.
- Managing and delivering monitoring projects, including client liaison and logistical planning.
- Producing high:quality documentation, such as laboratory chain of custody forms and technical reports.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
- A minimum qualification of Level 3 (A Level or NVQ).
- Practical experience in environmental monitoring (desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a proactive approach to problem:solving.
- A practical mindset with the ability to use common tools for commissioning on:site monitoring equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A full driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays.
Day:to:Day Duties
Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include
- Conducting ambient, indoor, and industrial emissions monitoring.
- Completing field odour surveys.
- Calibrating, managing, and maintaining sampling and laboratory equipment.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and consultants.
- Managing multiple projects and monitoring campaigns.
- Travelling across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
