Role Description
The Employability Coach is a 4 days per week, hybrid role based in Newport, with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves coaching and supporting learners to develop employability skills, build confidence, and progress into sustainable employment or further training. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Delivering structured group workshops and one-to-one sessions
- Creating tailored action plans
- Monitoring learner progress against agreed outcomes

The Employability Coach will collaborate closely with internal training teams and external partners to identify opportunities, coordinate placements, and ensure learners receive appropriate guidance and support. The role also includes:
- Maintaining accurate records
- Preparing reports
- Contributing to continuous improvement of coaching materials and approaches
Qualifications
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, or guidance, ideally within employability, apprenticeships, or education settings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the ability to motivate and engage diverse learners.
- Organisational and time management skills, including planning sessions, managing caseloads, and meeting targets and deadlines.
- Competence with digital tools and online learning platforms, with confidence delivering sessions through blended and remote methods.
- Knowledge of local labour markets, employability frameworks, and pathways into work, apprenticeships, and further education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external stakeholders, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
