Job Role

We’re hiring for Employability Trainer to join our team. At Seetec, we're passionate about helping young people realise their potential and take positive steps into employment. We're looking for an engaging and motivated Employability Trainer to deliver high quality employability and work preparation support to participants on our Youth Jobs Guarantee programme.

In this role, you'll deliver a range of flexible learning activities, including bite sized workshops, group sessions, online training and one-to-one support. You'll help young people develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to secure and sustain employment, covering areas such as CV writing, interview preparation, job searching, workplace behaviours, digital skills and confidence building.

You’ll work closely with Youth Employment Advisors and employer engagement colleagues, you'll tailor training to individual needs and local employment opportunities, ensuring participants are prepared for real vacancies and career progression.

We're looking for someone with experience in training, coaching, teaching or employability support, who is passionate about making a difference and supporting young people to achieve their goals.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location: Dorset & Hampshire
Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm
Closing Date: 15 October 2026
Contract Type: Permanent Subject to Contract Award

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging employability and work preparation training through a range of flexible formats, including bite-sized micro sessions, structured group workshops, one-to-one support, face-to-face delivery, and virtual learning.
  • Assess participant needs and adapt content, pace, and delivery methods to provide inclusive, accessible, and tailored support.
  • Deliver practical job-readiness training, including CV writing, application support, job search techniques, interview preparation, confidence building, transferable skills, workplace behaviours, digital skills, and preparation for starting work.
  • Work collaboratively with Youth Employment Advisors and operational colleagues to identify participant needs and support progression into relevant sectors and live vacancies.
  • Develop, review, and continuously improve micro-learning sessions, training materials, and wider learning provision based on participant feedback, emerging needs, and delivery insights.
  • Plan and manage an effective delivery schedule, ensuring high levels of participant engagement, attendance, quality, and performance outcomes.
  • Monitor learner progress and achievement, provide constructive feedback, and share outcomes with colleagues to support action planning and progression.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of training delivery, attendance, and participant outcomes in line with Youth Jobs Guarantee requirements, quality standards, grant funding, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all delivery is safe, inclusive, and compliant with safeguarding, Prevent, data protection, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience delivering employability, work preparation, skills, or personal development training to young people and adults in both group and one-to-one settings.
  • Confident in delivering engaging learning sessions through a variety of formats, including face-to-face and online delivery, with the ability to adapt content into concise, high impact micro learning sessions.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and motivational skills, with the ability to tailor delivery to different learning styles, confidence levels, and barriers to employment.
  • Good understanding of employability, recruitment processes, workplace expectations, and the challenges young people may face when progressing into employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, digital learning platforms, and case management/management information systems to support effective delivery and accurate record keeping.
  • Able to plan and manage a varied delivery schedule, achieve agreed performance targets, and travel across the designated delivery area as required.

Desirable

  • Award in Education and Training (Level 3), Certificate in Education and Training (Level 4), or an equivalent teaching/training qualification.
  • Experience delivering employability, skills, education or welfare-to-work programmes for young people or adults.
  • Experience developing engaging learning resources and training provision that supports progression into employment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, quality and compliance requirements, with the ability to maintain high standards of delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualification in teaching, training, employability, careers guidance or skills development.
