Job Title: Employee Communications Manager
Location: Cambridge or London, UK - Hybrid (50% working time at the office)
Employment Type: Full time, permanent
The Job
You will shape and deliver high-impact employee communications that help colleagues understand AVEVA’s strategy, priorities and progress. With a strong focus on executive-level communications, you will advise and partner closely with an assigned members of our Executive team from R&D, Portfolio and Strategy, helping them communicate with clarity, credibility, and with the right tone across the right channels.
This role is ideal for a strategic internal communicator who can translate complex or technical topics into simple, engaging narratives that drive understanding, alignment and action.
Key outcomes (what success looks like)
- Executives are well-prepared and confident delivering strategic messages with consistent narrative, tone and clarity.
- Employees demonstrate improved understanding of strategic priorities (as evidenced through feedback, Q&A themes, pulse/sentiment inputs and channel metrics).
- Major moments (e.g., All Hands) are delivered smoothly with strong content quality, message pull-through and measurable engagement.
- Communications are accessible, inclusive and channel-appropriate across global audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders as a trusted advisor, shaping messaging, tone of voice, timing and channel approach for strategic employee communications.
- Develop executive-ready content (narratives, key messages, briefings, talking points, scripts, FAQs and sensitive-topic responses).
- Translate complex/technical topics into clear, human and employee-relevant communications tailored to audience and context.
- Provide proactive counsel by anticipating employee questions, risks and “what it means for me” implications and advising leaders accordingly.
- Lead communications for major engagement moments (e.g., Global All Hands), including storyline, run-of-show, speaker coordination, rehearsal support and follow-up.
- Ensure alignment across leaders and functions, partnering with comms colleagues and SMEs to avoid duplication and maintain consistent enterprise messaging.
- Maintain high editorial and accessibility standards, ensuring communications are accurate, plain-language, inclusive, channel-fit and appropriately reviewed.
- Use insights and feedback to improve impact, tracking engagement/qualitative themes and refining leader communications and channel effectiveness over time.

Essential requirements
- Significant experience delivering employee communications, including strategic/change communications (typically 5+ years).
- Demonstrable experience supporting senior stakeholders with messaging and communications planning (multiple stakeholders preferred).
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, including the ability to translate complex/technical topics into clear and engaging employee communications.
- Strong project management capability: able to manage multiple workstreams, competing deadlines and stakeholder inputs with discipline and calm.
- Strong judgement, attention to detail and professionalism handling sensitive information.
Desired skills
- Experience supporting Product, R&D/engineering, Portfolio or Strategy organisations (or similarly technical environments).
- Experience delivering communications to global audiences and across time zones.
- Familiarity with common internal comms channels and virtual engagement formats.

Hybrid working
We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote. The working arrangement for this position will be confirmed during the hiring process.
