Are you an experienced Employee Relations or HR Advisor with a passion for coaching managers and improving employee outcomes? We're supporting a leading organisation in the appointment of an experienced HR specialist to join their team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of complex probation cases across a large operational workforce, providing expert guidance to managers while helping to build confidence and capability in managing performance, conduct and attendance issues from an early stage. This role is an initial 6 month temporary contract which offers fully remote working with occasional travel to Birmingham and London for team meetings.
The Role
Working closely with operational leaders, you'll provide specialist advice on formal probation processes, ensuring managers are equipped to make fair, consistent and well-evidenced decisions. Alongside case management, you'll play a key role in developing manager capability, encouraging proactive performance conversations and reducing employee relations risk.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
