What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and deliver Employee Relations Consultant support, with a primary focus on resolving manufacturing-related absence cases effectively.
  • Provide timely advice on short- and long-term absence, ill-health matters, restricted worker cases, and other complex scenarios.
  • Support line managers with absence-related disciplinary investigations and hearings, including dismissal and appeal, ensuring consistent process.
  • Spot early intervention opportunities and implement tailored support measures to reduce absence duration and improve employee outcomes.
  • Deliver absence management training to stakeholders across the manufacturing environment, building confidence and practical capability.
  • Partner with Occupational Health to align support plans and drive improved absence timescales across manufacturing sites.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience supporting absence, ill-health, restricted worker situations, and disciplinary casework within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage varied workloads and prioritise effectively.
  • Proven coaching and advisory skills, enabling managers to understand and apply HR processes with confidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex information clearly and professionally.

Location:

This Employee Relations Consultant role is based across West Midlands sites (Solihull, Castle Bromwich, Wolverhampton etc.). It will initially be fully based on site whilst training, then hybrid working (three days in the office and two days from home).
