Employee Relations Consultant – 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract

24 Hours per week

Salary between £40k - £43k

Norse Group is offering an excellent opportunity to join our supportive HR team and work across a varied, diverse business. Based at our Head Office in Norwich, you will take ownership of employee relations casework, support managers and make a visible impact within the team.

This is a part-time, nine-month fixed-term contract working 24 hours per week. It could be an ideal opportunity if you are seeking an interim role, looking to broaden your employee relations experience or ready to bring your expertise to a new environment.

Alternative working patterns and hours may be considered for the right candidate.

The Role

As an Employee Relations Consultant, you will join a knowledgeable and collaborative team providing practical, person-centred advice across the Group. You will manage your own varied caseload, support managers through complex issues and help deliver fair, timely and commercially sound outcomes.

  • Lead a broad range of complex employee relations cases, including absence, capability, grievance and disciplinary matters.
  • Coach and guide managers and stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Balance pace, quality and sound judgement whilst delivering against agreed service levels.
  • Help keep HR policies and practices current, practical and aligned with legislation and best practice.
  • Contribute ideas, share knowledge and adapt confidently in a fast-moving environment.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong, practical knowledge of employment law, procedure and best practice, with experience of managing complex cases.
  • The confidence to work autonomously, prioritise a varied caseload and meet key service levels.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills across all levels of the business.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute to wider team and business priorities.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • A good understanding of HR functions and systems.
  • A full UK driving licence, as occasional travel will be required.
