Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews concerning sensitive HR and employee relations matters.

- Gather and assess information from employees and other stakeholders.
- Identify patterns in casework and opportunities to address recurring issues.
- Manage a busy caseload while maintaining the quality and consistency of your work.
- Work with employee relations, legal and other teams on complex investigations.
- Reach evidence-based conclusions and clearly explain the reasoning behind your findings.
Minimum qualifications
- At least two years’ experience conducting employee investigations or handling complex employee relations matters in an HR or legal role.
- Strong knowledge of the UK grievance process.
- Experience handling complex matters, including harassment, sexual harassment and disability discrimination.

- Sound judgement and confidence making decisions based on evidence.
- The ability to explain the rationale for decisions and findings clearly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with people at all levels.
- Excellent writing skills and experience documenting investigation findings clearly and accurately.
- The ability to ask sensitive, probing questions and identify relevant facts.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
