Salary: circa £70,000
Location: Oxfordshire, predominantly remote with around 2-4 days per month onsite
Team: Part of a wider HR Services function, leading a team of four

We are working with an Oxfordshire-based organisation to recruit an experienced ER Manager into a senior role within its HR Services team. This is a broad, operationally focused opportunity for someone who has led an ER function, managed people and provided confident, pragmatic advice across complex employee relations matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established ER/HR Services leader looking for a senior, flexible role with breadth, autonomy and genuine responsibility across ER, people leadership, change and service delivery.

  • Leading the full ER function, acting as the escalation point for complex cases and employment risk.
  • Managing, coaching and developing a team of four within a wider HR Services model.
  • Taking ownership of ER policy development, guidance, process improvement and manager support.
  • Leading organisational change, design and restructure activity, including consultation and implementation.
  • Managing trade union/stakeholder negotiations and supporting senior leaders through sensitive people matters.
  • Overseeing service management activity, including contract, budget and supplier performance responsibilities.
  • Supporting job evaluation activity and ensuring fair, consistent and legally sound outcomes.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Strong ER leadership experience within a complex or unionised environment.
  • Proven experience leading a team and managing the full ER service/function.
  • Confidence advising at senior level across complex casework, restructuring, organisational change and policy.
  • A practical, credible and solutions-focused style, with the ability to influence and manage challenge.
