What you'll be doing:
The Employee Relations Manager will take ownership of employee relations casework across the UK, providing practical, consistent and legally sound advice to managers and HR colleagues.
This is a permanent, full-time position with responsibility for managing the organisation's UK employee relations caseload. You will manage a varied portfolio of employee relations matters, from day-to-day cases through to more complex and sensitive situations, ensuring that cases are handled fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment law and company policy.
Case Management
- Manage a portfolio of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, conduct and other complex employee matters.
- Take ownership of cases from initial advice through to resolution, ensuring appropriate documentation, process and follow-up.
- Advise on flexible working requests, changes to terms and conditions and employee exits.
- Support managers and HR colleagues through formal processes, including redundancy consultations and TUPE transfers.
- Ensure cases are managed consistently, proportionately and in line with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate case records and identify appropriate points for escalation where required.

Advisory and Coaching
- Provide practical ER guidance to line managers and HR Business Partners on employment law, company policy and best practice.
- Coach managers through difficult employee conversations and formal processes, helping them manage issues confidently and fairly.
- Support managers in resolving employee relations issues at the earliest appropriate stage.
- Work closely with Legal where cases present increased legal, regulatory or reputational risk.
Policy and Process
- Support the development and ongoing review of ER policies, guidance and manager toolkits.
- Support investigations, whistleblowing cases and Subject Access Requests (DSARs) where required.
- Identify recurring ER themes and trends and recommend improvements to processes, policies and manager capability.
- Help ensure a consistent approach to ER case management across the business.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, Reward and other Centres of Excellence.
- Partner with managers and business leaders to provide clear, commercially aware advice on employee relations matters.
- Support HR teams with organisational change and restructuring activity, including redundancy and TUPE processes.
- Act as a trusted and approachable point of contact for employee relations matters across the UK.
What experience you'll bring:
- Proven experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases within a fast-paced organisation.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies and procedures.
- Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and conduct cases from start to finish.
- Good understanding of formal processes such as redundancy consultation and TUPE.
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise managers at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgement, discretion and professionalism.
- Experience working collaboratively with HR, Legal and other business functions.
- Highly organised, pragmatic and able to manage multiple cases and priorities independently.
