We're looking for an Employee Relations Manager & a People ~Business Partner
Overview
For a public sector organisation based in Nottinghamshire (hybrid) on an initial 12-month contract, paying between £350 to £450 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office three days a week.
Employee Relations Manager Role
Responsibilities
- Handle high-risk and complex ER cases across a large, evolving organisation.
- Advise and coach senior leaders on employee relations and workplace culture.
- Work closely with trade unions.
- Support change and workforce restructuring programmes.
- Turn people data into practical, workable solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the following:
- Managing high-risk and complex employee relations cases
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Working with trade unions
- Coaching, influencing and advising senior leaders and managers
- Stakeholder management and building trusted relationships at all levels
- Supporting organisational growth, transformation or workforce restructuring
- Experience within major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence or similar environments would be beneficial, as would experience in public sector or multi-organisational programme environments, and designing ER frameworks in a new or growing organisation.
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience) is required for this role.
- Mediation or workplace conflict resolution qualifications are highly desirable.

People Business Partner Role
Responsibilities
- Support managers and teams across the organisation on the full range of people matters.
- Handle complex employee relations cases.
- Deliver HR projects and organisational development initiatives.
- Produce HR metrics and management information to guide decision-making.
- Build trusted relationships at all levels and help move people-focused programmes forward in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with the following:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) gained in an HR Advisor, Junior HRBP or HRBP role
- Employee relations casework and a sound grasp of UK employment law, HR policies and best practice
- Delivering HR projects and organisational development initiatives
- Producing HR metrics, MI and data-driven recommendations
- Stakeholder management, communication and influencing at all levels
- Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- The following would be beneficial:
- HAY Job Evaluation accreditation and experience with career architecture and grading frameworks
- Talent management, succession planning, workforce planning and early careers programmes
- Leading organisational change, transformation and culture initiatives
- Experience in engineering, energy, infrastructure, public sector or other regulated environments
