Job Description

School hours or part-time hours, 20-25 hours, ideally over 5 days with 3 days in office, open to discussing. £60,000 pro-rata.

We are looking for someone to delve into our Employee Relations and own our ER strategy and development.

We do not want you sitting in meetings and handling the cases, the aim is for you to collaborate with managers, guide them through the difficult conversations, providing advice and training, coaching on investigations, formal processes, so they ultimately take ownership.

Note, you would be our ER expert and therefore you would be involved in escalated and complex cases, sharing your expertise and providing legally compliant advice and guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Then, the really interesting piece, where the real satisfaction will come from. Delve into the ER cases, the reasoning, how they were managed, the outcomes. Analyse and use your findings for new initiatives, to help mitigate at root cause and ensure measures are put in place for better handing and resolutions in the future.

You will love getting into the detail, collaborating, tracking, and monitoring the data and reporting trends and your findings. Like a project this will lead you to outcomes and delivering the benefits. There is so much you and we can learn from focusing on ER and you will feed your findings and recommendations into the full employee life cycle, from recruitment, people policies, processes, wellbeing initiatives, and management capability. You will play a key role in fostering employee engagement, promoting fair and consistent people practices, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
