We're delighted to be partnering with an international law firm to recruit an Employee Relations Manager / Senior Employee Relations Manager to join its established HR function.
Salary: £70k-£85k, depending on level and experience.
Hybrid working: 2-3 days in office per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ER professional to take ownership of complex and business-critical employee relations matters within a highly regarded and collaborative environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, you'll provide strategic guidance on a broad range of people challenges while helping to shape a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
The role also offers the opportunity to lead and develop a small team, making it ideal for someone looking to combine hands-on casework expertise with people leadership responsibilities.
Key duties will include:
- Acting as the firm's subject matter expert on employee relations, providing commercially focused advice on complex and sensitive people matters.
- Partnering with HR colleagues and senior leaders to navigate challenging workplace situations and deliver fair, balanced and legally compliant outcomes.
- Supporting the resolution of high-risk employee issues, offering pragmatic guidance while protecting both employee experience and business objectives.
- Leading fact-finding exercises and reviewing complex cases, helping managers make informed decisions and apply policies consistently.
- Using workforce data and trends to identify themes, recommend improvements and support proactive people strategies.
- Providing coaching and guidance to HR colleagues and managers to strengthen capability and confidence in managing employee matters.
- Contributing to wider HR and business initiatives, bringing specialist employee relations expertise to key projects and strategic discussions.
- Leading, mentoring and developing junior team members to ensure a high-quality and consistent ER service is delivered across the firm.

About you: We're keen to speak with experienced Employee Relations professionals who have operated at Manager or Senior Manager level within a complex, professional environment. You'll possess strong working knowledge of UK employment law and have a proven track record of managing sensitive and high-profile employee relations matters. Whether your background is rooted in employee relations, employment law, or a combination of both, you'll be confident providing clear, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders. Experience within legal, financial services or another regulated environment would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to organisational change programmes and complex case management.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong judgement, resilience and influencing skills. You'll be adept at balancing risk with commercial realities, capable of handling multiple priorities, and comfortable building credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
