Employee Relations Specialist

Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a well-established organisation, on the recruitment of an Employee Relations Specialist.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER professional to join a fast-paced operational environment, providing expert support across a broad range of employee relations matters. Working closely with managers and HR colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice whilst ensuring a positive employee experience and adherence to employment legislation and company policies.

Duties:

  • Provide expert guidance to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, probation, capability, attendance management and performance issues.
  • Coach and support managers throughout formal employee relations processes, ensuring cases are handled fairly, consistently and within agreed timescales.
  • Advise investigating managers and hearing managers on best practice, process compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Manage a varied ER caseload, maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior HR stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Monitor trends and recurring employee relations issues, providing recommendations to improve processes, policies and management capability.
  • Coordinate and track internal mediation activity, including case monitoring, scheduling and management reporting.
  • Provide HR administration support including preparation of case documentation, meeting coordination and note-taking where required.
  • Develop strong working relationships with operational managers, acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters.
  • Produce regular case management reports and metrics for HR leadership teams.
  • Contribute to wider HR and employee relations projects designed to support organisational objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining positive employee and trade union relationships across the business.

Skills & Experience:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Previous experience in an Employee Relations, HR Advisor or similar role within a fast-moving operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and its practical application in the workplace.
  • Proven experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance and conduct-related cases.
  • Experience working alongside recognised trade unions would be highly advantageous.
  • Confident using HR systems and producing management information and case-related reporting.
